It’s my birthday today and as a treat to you, I am revealing my two favorite margarita recipes – blended and shaken. Full disclosure, I hate super sweet margs or anything with “sweet and sour” mixes and sugary additions. I like to keep it simple and yummy and these both do the trick.
I’ve named it the Beast Blend, because the blended margarita is perfect when done with the new, super chic and crazy good Beast blender (a full look into everything you can do with the Beast to come) and the SJ Shaken, because SJ is my wonderful husband, who makes the best margs!
The Beast Blended Margarita
- Coarse Kosher Salt for rimming the glass
- Lime wedges, also for rimming the glass + garnishing
- 1 cup tequila (we love Casamigos blanco)
- 1 cup lime juice
- ½ cup triple sec
- 2 tablespoons agave syrup (or other sweetener to taste)
- 6 cups of ice
Blend in Beast and serve!
The SJ Shaken Margarita
- Coarse Kosher Salt for rimming the glass
- Lime wedges, also for rimming the glass + garnishing
- 2.5 oz tequila or mezcal
- 1 oz Cointreau
- Juice of 1 lime, squeezed (tip: squish it/ roll between your hand to make it easier to juice)
Shake vigorously in a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in your salt rimmed, lime garnished, ice filled cup… Olé!
